Hands On: Kindle Fire HD
The second generation Kindle fire was recently announced: the Kindle Fire HD.  It's a small tablet, 7 inches, and like the previous version it's pretty small and thin, only 8.8mm.  This also means it's quite a light tablet at just 13.9 ounces.
The tablet also has a new rubber backing, making it easier to grip in your hand.
As suggested in the name, the new Kindle fire HD has a HD screen.  In fact, the screen is better in basically all aspects and has a resolution of 1920X1200 and 254PPI.  This means, that films and games now look crisper and just better in general.  The screen also features a full colour spectrum meaning that the colours on screen are more vibrant and there's better contrast.  The new screen also has 25% less glare than it's predecessor.
Like the previous version, the Kindle fire HD doesn't have any buttons on the front, however it does feature a new HD front facing Camera.  Volume and lock controls are on the side.
To add to the HD screen, Amazon have added an HDMI port out so you can stream HD movies onto your TV.
Hands On: Kindle Fire HD ReviewThe new tablet also comes with 16GB of storage (previous version was 8) and a faster wifi connection (5GHz).  The new Kindle fires WiFi is 41 percent faster than the latest Apples iPad.
