Blackberry torch 9800 review- Touchscreen

Whats Good?

The browser! Much better than OS 5 and below
The combination of the TouchScreen and the qwerty keyboard make it easy to navigate around the phone and type messages.
The E-mail and social networking apps work really well and are easy and simple to use.
Great connectivity
Some other reviews complain about the screen being unresponsive, however today the screen worked fine.

Whats not so good? BAD:

The phone is bulky and heavy.
Screen resolution not great.
Limited appstore (All blackberry's, not just 9800)

The blackberry torch 9800 runs the BB OS 6. It has a big touchscreen (3.2") on the front with a classic BlackBerry keyboard which slides out from underneath.

The Touchscreen

The screen is very responsive and easy to use. The OS 6 works well with the touch and it means you can easily scroll through apps like facebook and twitter rather than having to use the trackerpad.
The blackberry appstore (appworld) is no where near as large as Apple's or Androids meaning the range and quality of games isn't as good as other smartphones. However, this phone is fine for texting, e-mailing, facebooking, checking twitter, and of course BBM'ing!

The keyboard.
The keyboard on the 9800 easily slides out from underneath, meaning you dont have to use the touchscreen which can be a bit fiddly. the keyboard is as good as any other blackberry keyboard, meaning you can type long messages quickly.

The Camera

like most other Blackberry's, the 9800 has a 5MP camera. The camera is easy to use and quick when taking pictures. However, the quality of the pictures isn't great. Especially in dim light. We also had a problem eith the autofocus. It can sometimes take a long time to focus, especially if there is something moving in the picture your trying to take.
However, scrolling through pictures is simple easy and fast, thanks to the touchscreen.

Would we recommend it?
Only for around £200.00 Its old now, with the updated version the 9810 now out. The 9810 review is coming soon. It runs the updated version of the BB OS. OS7.
