Facebook users reaches 1 billion. And more facebook facts...

Facebook has announced that it now has more than 1 billion people using it every month. This photo (BBC) shows the percentage of people who use the website in each continent.

Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg announced the achievement on US television earlier today and also said that, together, the users were responsible for over 1.13 trillion likes, 219 Billion photos and 17 Billion location check-ins.
The company, that was founded in 2004, was will be looking to target Africa and Asia in the near future. Part of the way they've done this, is with their facebook for every phone campaign. They've developed facebook applications for phones that can't display full web pages, for countries that are further behind in technology.
