The Vodafone 543- The £20 touch phone

By Toby 02 April 2012
Vodafone 543 The vodafone 543 has a 2.8" touch screen.  It looks reasonably stylish and is quite light and compact.  It is also good value for money £20.00!
Despite this phone being touch screen, it can not be compared to smart phones like the Samsung Galaxy's or the Apple iPhone.  The touch screen is unresponsive and slow, making texting difficult. When testing it, i found that you had to push down hard to get the phone to respond.  It does use resistive touch screen but at some points it felt as though the screen was cracking.  It can also be inaccurate at times, especially when typing due to the small screen.  It can get get frustrating quickly, especially if your used to phones with responsive touch screens.
The resolution of the screen is also fairly poor with just 240X320 pixels.

It also has a 1.2 MP camera which can also video record.

Vodafone 543
Despite all these problems, you must remember the phone is only £20.  A price that is very cheap for what the phone is.  Overall i would rate the phone: 2.5/5 but it is still great value for money.
Although, i wouldn't recommend buying it instead of one with a traditional key pad as the touch screen can be unresponsive, slow and inaccurate.
