iPhone 6: Bitesize news and rumours

What will it be?

There are many rumours suggesting what we will see in the iPhone 6. It is likely that we will see a follow up to the iPhone C. This will have lower, but improved, specs than the full version.

The iPhone 5S will be upgraded to the iPhone 6 with the following features:

Upgraded everything (processor, camera, screen etc.)
Liquidmetal body? There is nothing certain about this but there have been reports of a number of liquidmetal patents being filed by employees of Apple.
LED backlight.
Thinner body. See the apparent leaked images of the Phones' case shown right.(C-Tech).
A bigger screen size, 4.7-inches.

Below are two leaked pictures of what is said to be the iPhone 6. You can see that the edges are much more curved and seem to be following a design similar to the iPad air and mini.

iPhone Air

There have also been fairy strong rumours (with evidence to support these) that Apple will be releasing a phablet, the iPhone Air. This, according to reports, would have a screen size of 5.5-inches and so would be in the market to challenge the Samsung Galaxy Note (Now in its 3rd version). Below there are two pictures, the first showing mock-ups of the iPhone 6 with the iPhone Air.

Release Date?

A September release date has been widely accepted (this follows previous Apple trends) and, to be more specific, we've found that many tech websites seemed to be suggesting the 9 September. This fits nicely with the rollout of the recently-announced iOS 8.

Price

Expect, as usual, a premium price for the iPhone 6. We've heard a possible £500 for a 32GB iPhone 6. For the iPhone Air (at 5.5-inches) the price wil be higher- possibly £550-600 at 32GB.
