BlackBerry Curve 9320- review

By Admin 29 July 2012
Blackberry have recently released their latest phone, the Curve 9320.  It can be found for £100.0, a fairly cheap price for the average smartphone.  And it is one of their basic models.

The Screen
The Screen is low resolution which is 320X240 and measures 2.44 inches.  It isn't the best screen, but it does the job.  Unlike nearly all smartphones now, Blackberry are still persisting with their non-touch screen phones.

Key's
The Signature feature of the blackberry is the Optical track pad which is seen on nearly every blackberry.  The keys around that are the: Call, menu, back and Hang up buttons which are all mechanical (not touch sensitive).
The Keyboard is typical Curve which, to some, are small and fiddly but actually work quite well and provide a satisfying click.

Camera
The Camera on Blackberry's latest smartphone is only 3.2 MP which compared to some smart phone isn't very good.  However it does provide a good easy-to-use camera which is great for taking the odd snap. On the back, there is also the LED flash light.

Interface
BB OS 10 has not yet been released, so the Curve 9320 runs OS7.1.  Despite being the latest Blackberry operating system it is actually quite outdated and can't really compare to iOS or Android.  One feature on the phone is the Voice search.  However, its actually rubbish compared to Siri or Samsung's version

BlackBerry Curve 9320 reviewApps
With this phone, you get the traditional Brick breaker and word mole, but you also get tetris and Uno and, although only trial versions, they're a nice change.  You also get the social networks, Twitter and facebook, and a variety of others including Sky sports and Ebay.
The official App word is still a bit rubbish compared to the Apple App store and Google Play.  The Apps are usually overpriced and generally not as good as Apple or Android's offerings. However, there are alternative app markets such as Handmark and Getjar, which provide more reasonably priced apps. Of course, the phone wouldn't be complete without the famous BBM (Blackberry messenger).

Overall
It's a budget smartphone which isn't as good as the likes of iPhone, but then again its not tying to be.  Its also only £99.99 so you cant expect too much.  Rating: 4.1/5- its good for its price.
