Nintendo 3DS XL- review

By Admin 28 July 2012
Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XLWhen Nintendo first released their 3DS, it didn't go down too well and they ended up selling it for below cost price.
Now they have released the XL version of the 3DS which is prices at a more reasonable £166.00.  The device has been released in Europe and will come out on the 19th August in the UK.

3ds xlThe screens are 90% larger than the Original 3DS and the top one is now 4.88" while the bottom screen is 4.18".  Because the device is bigger, the weight has also been increased from 235 grams to 336 grams.

The larger version doesn't have the same shiny effect, instead Nintendo has opted for a matte style.  It doesn't look quite as good however it is a lot more smudge resistant.

The storage on the XL version is also better.  While the original had 2GB memory, the newer version has double- 4GB.  However, unless you live in North America, there is no charger included and you will have to buy it separately.  It does work with the other DS's chargers though (Apart from the original).
