Google to Start Over With Glass Project

By Admin 07 February 2015
The New York Times reports that Google is starting from
scratch with Glass.  Last month, Google halted the sale of the gadget and Tony Fadell (former Apple gadget designer) has taken over the project.

The project has proved controversial and the development has taken place very much in the public eye after the device was shown off in 2012 at Google's developers conference.

There have also been numerous reports on how well Glass runs.   One major setback for the project was the failure to overcome the battery life problem.

If you have a look at the Google Glass project's website, you'll find the message 'Thanks for exploring.  The journey doesn't end here'.

This is probably a good thing for fans of Glass.  Glass' development was slowing down and it was as if they had hit a brick wall.  Starting again means that the good technology from the previous project can be kept, with new technology coming in form elsewhere.  However, for those who want to see Glass on the shelves as a consumer product any time soon are going to be disappointed.  It's going to be a fair few years yet.
