HTC One SV- Review / info

By Admin 04 March 2013
The HTC One SV is a mid-range handset, featuring 4G connectivity.  It has 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage but also an SD card slot if you want to add to that amount.  It costs around £280 on Pay-as-you-go, which can prove to be expensive- especially for the specs you get.  The handset has a reasonable 4.3 inch screen, however it only has a pixel resolution of 400 X 800 which, in today's standards, isn't too competitive.    In fact, the older One S had a screen resolution of 540 x 960 so there's no obvious reason which the SV has to be so low. The ppi also fails to impress at just 216 pixels per square-inch.

The phone also has a back-facing camera which is just 5MP and runs the earliest version of Android Ice cream Sandwich  4.0.

Overall, the phone is pretty average.  there are certainly cheaper options, some which offer much better specs (minus 4G), for example, the Nexus 4.

It's main feature is the 4G connectivity and this really is the only unique feature for a phone at this price, but if you need 4G, would you get such an average phone? 4G is expensive enough on a contract- you could even end up paying over £1000 for a two year contract with this phone and by then these specs will be well out of date.
