More fitness Tech accessories come to the market- this time from Microsoft

Another fitness band has joined the market, this time from Microsoft. It is yet more competition to a rapidly growing sector of the wearable tech world. The device, un-originally named Microsoft Band, is fairly standard and does nothing that others don't. It can measure your heartbeat, stress, calories and also your exposure to the sun (perhaps that is something new?). The band also comes with email, calender, a timer and alarm as well as Cortana (Microsoft's voice recognition software).

Of course, Google, Samsung and Apple already have products similar to this on the market. The Galaxy Gear Fit, by Samsung, is very much comparable to Microsoft's offering- except for one interesting feature. Whilst the Gear Fit only works with Samsung Smartphones, the Microsoft Band is compatible with all major operating systems (finally!) and it can also connect to Twitter and Facebook.

Launched first in the United States, the device costs $199 (£125). It's battery life is supposedly two days on a single charge.
