Google announce updates to maps at their 2013 I/O conference
Google Maps blue tag
Google maps was a big talking point for the company as they announce a more basic and clean user interface for the software.  They say it has 'been built from the ground up' and now offers a more personalized experience.  Maps will also now come with Ads and promotions though, as you scroll round over certain business the sponsored business names will come up.   Another feature is being able to zoom out of the planet to see the spherical earth, more like Google earth.  It will then show you up to date cloud information!

Nvidias Shield console price and release date announced
Nvidia- the company that makes computer chips- has announced that the shield console will be launched in June for $349 (£229) in North America.  This means that it is $100 more expensive than the Play station vita and nearly double price of Nintendo's 3DS XL.  The device itself is an android-powered handheld gaming console, equipped with the companies fastest mobile processor chip.  Nvidia says it offers "rich graphics and unbeatable performance".

Surface Pro to come to the Britain
The Microsoft Surface pro will come to Britain next week with a rather steep price tag: £720!  Having been available in the US for some time now, it will be on the shelves in the UK from the 23rd May. The £720 version comes with 64GB of storage but there will be another option available that has 128GB- though this will cost £800.  It is roughly two time the price of the Surface, but does come with full Windows 8 (not just Windows RT) meaning you can run full programs and not just apps downloaded from their sparsely populated app store.

Blackberry's BBM to come to iOS and Android in June
According to the official Blackberry blog, the company has taken the decision to make their popular messaging service available on Apple's iOS and Google's Android.  They say that this will enable everyone to 'experience the Team Blackberry love' and that the first version of BBM available on the new platforms will come with the following features:  Normal BBM chats, Blackberry Groups, Voice message sending, Group Chats.  The App will also be free.
