What is Softonic.com?
Softonic is a website that allows you to download software for free online. It has Web browsers, media players, games and more in one place.
You can download the latest version of Firefox or Google Chrome for free, as well as being able to download free demo versions of software such as microsft office or Call of Duty on PC. With some games and software you can then pay and download the ful version from the same site. Other programs available for download include Photoshop Demo, VLC player and minecraft. As well as this, the website will supply information on the program as well as a user rating and their own rating.
The service is very good. You can download a HALO for PC demo which has part of the full versions story and you can play one map online. When you first click download on the webstie, it will not download the program immediatly, it will download a Softonic downloader for the software you are downloading. It will then ask you if you wish to download a softonic toolbar for your web browser and say that is is recomended. However we don't recomend you do this and there is an option which takes you to the next page without getting the toolbar. This next page is an advert for some type of software that you dont really want but it will ask you if you want to download it and it will aslo say that it is reccomended. Again, we dont recomend that you download the advertised software and luckily, there is an option which lets you move on without getting it. Click next and you will finally takes you to the download. It worked very well when we tried it and downloaded with no problems. After you have downloaded the software, you wont need Softonic anymore and the software will appear completely separate.
